WEEE recycling

July 2024 Update: WEEE electrical and electronic waste recycling plant

Stokkermill is progressing with the installation and commissioning of a WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) recycling plant at a top electronics and alkaline battery recycling company. The plant features three independent lines:

  • Recycling of end-of-life electrical and electronic equipment, including electrical cables
  • Remediation of out-of-service television screens, with extraction of fluorescent dust from neon backlights using a HELPA filtration system
  • Volumetric reduction of large plastic components for the production of PVC-PE granulate

The facility has a total power capacity of approximately 300 kW and will be able to process around 1,000 tons of materials per year. A standout feature is the VT-M multiple densimetric table, which efficiently separates metal fractions based on specific gravity, particle size, and color.

The plant is expected to be fully commissioned in September, with full operations commencing shortly thereafter. Several technical innovations incorporated into the design will drastically reduce processing time while delivering highly refined metal streams.
