Engine Crusher for Aluminum Engines and Gearboxes
The P01 automotive engine crusher is designed and built by Stokkermill Recycling for recovering ferrous metals and the aluminum fraction from gearboxes, engines, and transmissions from end-of-life vehicles (ELVs). Crushing, followed by separation with a magnetic drum, produces materials ready for downstream processing.

The P01’s robustness and reliability come from a 60 mm thick steel structure with a Hardox wear-resistant coating. Welding of the P01 endothermic engine press is performed automatically by a robotic arm. The total weight of the P01 crushing press exceeds 22,000 lbs. The entire construction process takes place at Stokkermill workshops in Udine, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, a district renowned for excellence in mechanical and electromechanical engineering.

Production capacity of the P01 varies between 17,600–22,000 lbs/h, depending on the set parameters, the quality of incoming material, and the desired output size. At the heart of the press is a Linde hydraulic system, which gives the pusher a force of 220 tons, sufficient for fast and efficient size reduction.

The compression tray is PLC-controlled, allowing adjustment of key parameters such as speed, return time, cycle count, and exhaust port opening. The system can connect to a computer for production tracking and remote assistance.

The aluminum fraction can be further processed with an HM series hammer mill, producing particles between 0.8 and 1.6 inches (20–40 mm). The P01 motor crushing press itself has a production capacity of 13,200–17,600 lbs/h.
