cable stripper for armoured cables in USA BLACK BOX ST57100 Stokkermill

The Black Box ST57100 was developed precisely to meet this need. It is an STOKKERMILL cable stripper designed and manufactured by Seltek to process armoured cables as well as standard cables, separating the metallic components – copper, aluminium and any steel armour – from the outer plastic or rubber sheath in a single pass. The result is two clean fractions, ready to be sent to their respective recovery channels, with a direct economic benefit for those managing the recycling process: the recovered copper and metals retain a much higher market value when correctly separated from the plastic component.

01 · THE MACHINE

Engineered for the strength of armored cable.

Armored electrical cable, protected by steel wire braid or metallic tape, is widely used in the power, telecommunications, marine, and underground infrastructure industries. Its mechanical strength, however, makes it difficult to process with a conventional cable stripping machine: the armor can rapidly wear the blades, jam inside the cutting chamber, and prevent clean separation of the metal from the insulating jacket.

The Black Box ST57100 was developed specifically for this application. Designed and manufactured by Seltek, it processes both armored and standard cable, separating copper, aluminum, and any steel armor from the outer plastic or rubber jacket in a single pass. The resulting fractions are clean and ready for their respective recovery streams, helping preserve the market value of the recovered metals.

02 · BENEFITS

Why choose the Black Box ST57100.

01

Designed for armored cable

The cutting unit is sized to process cable with steel wire braid or metallic tape, as well as standard cable.

02

Clean material recovery

Metal and jacket are separated in a single pass, reducing processing time and improving the quality of the recovered material.

03

Integrated safety

A fully enclosed cabinet, interlocked feed door, and emergency-stop button help protect the operator.

04

Reduced noise level

The enclosed cabinet helps keep the machine's sound level at or below 75 dB(A).

05

Compact and straightforward

A single motor and compact design simplify installation, electrical connection, and maintenance, even where floor space is limited.

03 · APPLICATIONS

From decommissioning sites to metal recovery.

The Black Box ST57100 is designed for scrap processors, metal collection and recycling centers, and cable processing facilities handling material from electrical decommissioning projects, construction sites, marine installations, telecommunications networks, and underground power distribution systems.

It is a dedicated solution for operations where armored cable accounts for a significant share of the incoming material and requires more robust processing than conventional cable stripping machines can provide.
